Rachel Gaubinger specializes in British literature of the 19th and 20th centuries. Her current project examines representations of siblings in novels from the 1860s to the 1930s, looking at ways writers used narrative form in their attempts to comprehend and to reimagine shifting conceptions of the family in the modern age. Her broader research interests include the history and theory of the novel, affect theory, gender and sexuality studies, and the history of psychoanalysis.
