Durba Chattaraj is an anthropologist whose research addresses economic and cultural transformations in South Asia in an era of globalization. Past field research projects include an ethnography of a highway that connects rural and urban space, and a study of informal housing settlements in the city of Delhi. Her current project explores the relationship between writing, reasoning, and democracy in India.
