Patricia “PK” Kennedy is an attorney who studies the oft-conflicted role of international organizations in promoting global recognition of human rights while honoring state sovereignty. Past research has included the applicability of the Geneva Conventions to movements for self-determination and the effectiveness of the Foreign Assistance Act in protecting human rights. Since 9/11, she has explored the influence of domestic legislation on international human rights law enforcement mechanisms.
