Bio/Description

Thea Goldring is an art historian who researches, teaches, and writes about European art and visual culture in relation to histories of science. She is particularly interested in the role that artists play in visualizing scientific discoveries and theories, as well as how advances in science change how artists see the world. Her current project examines how an eighteenth-century scientific artist used drawing to investigate the natural world in all its wonderful strangeness.
